B2eMarkets and Prowess to Bring Decision Support Tools to eSourcing Management Solution Users - Brief Article

Information Superhighways Newsletter, June, 2001

B2eMarkets Inc., provider of the first end-to-end, Web-enabled strategic e-sourcing solution, announced a partnership with the Prowess Software division of the BiosGroup, a leader in the field of complexity science for business applications, to enhance decision support capabilities for users of their Strategic eSourcing Management (SeSM) solution. This partnership enables SeSM users to make purchasing decisions using a broad portfolio of criteria, including both quantitative and qualitative factors.

B2eMarket's SeSM users will have added decision support tools to evaluate request for quote (RFQ) responses, allowing them to choose the supplier that best fits their needs based on their specified criteria. The BiosGroup's MarketProwess uses advanced matching algorithms that enable true multi-dimensional matching and trade-off analysis to help buyers identify where they can gain the most value in the eNegotiation process. With MarketProwess, SeSM users will be able to express their flexibilities and capabilities to optimize the negotiation process and allow buyers to make the best purchasing decisions.

B2eMarkets' SeSM solution enables procurement professionals to electronically research, evaluate, plan, and negotiate the lowest total cost of ownership for goods and services that are strategic to their core product offering. Companies subscribe to this hosted, Web-based software solution to allow their sourcing professionals to analyze both internal and external data to determine an effective eNegotiation strategy. Buyers can then submit detailed, total-cost RFQs to their list of qualified suppliers in either a private offer or reverse auction, eNegotiation, to achieve the lowest total cost for their purchase.
