Netsize Selects Geneva Software from Convergys to Support Growth and New Service Offerings - Brief Article
Information Superhighways Newsletter, July, 2001
Netsize, a leading French provider of two-way messaging services, has selected Convergys' Geneva software as the active revenue management solution it will use for billing all of its services. Netsize chose the Geneva solution because of its performance and scalability and because it will assist the company with launching innovative business offers and new value-added services. The Geneva software became part of Convergys' solution portfolio in April when the company completed its merger with UK-based Geneva Technology Ltd.
Netsize, the first wireless messaging operator in Europe, develops value-added solutions in order to connect corporate information systems to any kind of wireless device. Netsize handles very large volumes of traffic and is among the principal operators in this market. Its fast, reliable, and extensive architecture is linked with the SMS centers of other European operators enabling two-way messaging communication across Europe.
Key reasons for Netsize's selection of Convergys' Geneva solution were its ability to provide support for Netsize's multi-party business model, as well as for the increasingly international nature of SMS communications. The company was also looking for a solution that offered true convergence across multiple services and multiple channels.
Geneva's high degree of scalability ensures that Netsize will be able to address the demands of its planned rapid increase in services as well as those of the growing customer base for its existing SMS services. Geneva offers full multi-language, multi-currency, and multi-tax support as well as truly customer-centric billing. This will enable Netsize to offer services such as its SMS Online Solutions and SMS packs (which turn wireless terminals into real virtual offices) to multinational corporate customers, with tariffs tailored to the individual requirements of particular companies. Convergys' Geneva solution will also be used to bill for new services based on GPRS and UMTS.
