Inteilifact Announces Global Expansion with Network of B2B Communities

Information Superhighways Newsletter, August, 2000

Intellifact.com announced a major step in its global strategy with the launch of an expert-led network of business-to-business (B2B) Web sites spanning more than 30 international regions and industries.

Intellifact also announced the opening of its first six international offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Beijing, Tokyo, and Sao Paulo to coincide with the unveiling of this global network of business-to-business Web communities. The offices will each be staffed with administrative assistance to direct all Intellifact calls.

In line with its international focus and scope, the company has changed its name from Intellifact.com Inc. to Intellifact International Inc. The company will continue using its Intellifact.com logo, brand, and trademark.

The global launch paves the way for the addition of numerous e-commerce features that will be added to Intellifact's dozens of regional and industry communities in the coming months. The international expansion, in fact, is designed to capitalize on a B2B c-commerce trade projected to grown from a $400 billion worldwide industry in 2000 to $7 trillion in 2004, with two-thirds of that amount expected to come from outside the US.

Recent analyst predictions and media coverage support Intellifact's vision to provide the infrastructure to facilitate global expansion for B2B players.

"Intellifact's global business network represents the next wave of explosive Internet growth," said Patrick McClear, CEO of Intellifact International Inc. "The first wave of business-to-consumer e-commerce sites and the second phase of vertical business-to-business portals have given rise to the next wave -- global c-commerce -- and Intellifact is positioned squarely as a lead in this space."

The Intellifact network will greatly enhance the ability of businesses of all sizes to expand globally by breaking down cultural, physical, and bureaucratic barriers to entering foreign markets and fragmented industries with access to hard-to-find strategic business knowledge and e-commerce.

"We are creating a revolutionary global network that leverages our experiences as the Internet's pioneering portal for business professional and researchers," McClear said. "We have already established many critical partnerships and registered over 400 leading firms and knowledge providers for our soon-to-be launched Knowledge Marketplace. We have developed the tools, resources, and technology to build a global marketplace that will literally change the nature of the distribution of business information, products, and services.
