RateXchange Announces European Bandwidth Delivery Hub Locations

Information Superhighways Newsletter, August, 2000

RateXchange Corp., a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce exchange for telecommunications bandwidth, announced that it will expand the deployment of its neutral and anonymous delivery hubs via an agreement with TeleCity, a European carrier-independent Internet infrastructure service provider.

Through this agreement, RateXchange will utilize TeleCity's European collocation facilities to deploy its delivery hubs quickly and cost-effectively

to additional markets.

The relationship further allows RateXchange to offer its customers the benefit of a neutral, anonymous exchange for buying and selling bandwidth fairly and efficiently on an international level.

"Leveraging TeleCity's European collocation space offers RateXchange members expanded coverage into new markets," said Russ Matulich, vice president of sales at RateXchange Corp. "In addition to extending its geographic reach into Europe, RateXchange is also looking to tap into new markets that would benefit from the value put forth by its neutral bandwidth commodity exchange, such as the London Internet exchange."

TeleCity will provide RateXchange with collocation service and support throughout Europe. Additionally, RateXchange will benefit from TeleCity's European growth and reach as the company expands.

TeleCity intends to create and manage a number of interconnection points for the Internet across Europe. By providing a pan-European infrastructure network supported by high-level services, TeleCity aims to offer RateXchange access to markets across Europe now and in the future.

"TeleCity and RateXchange share the vision of offering customers neutral and anonymous means to meet its bandwidth needs," said Kevin Still, sales and marketing director for TeleCity. "This relationship enables RateXchange to execute its vision of European access to its customers in a timely and cost effective manner."
