Information Superhighways Newsletter, August, 2001
Impress Software, a provider of collaborative e-business solutions, announced Olin Chlor Alkali Products, the fourth largest North American producer of chlorine and caustic soda, has selected Impress to supply a system-to-Web solution in which their customers can place and track orders on-line via a browser interface. In addition, Impress will provide Olin with direct business-to-business integration between Olin and their customers via XML across the Internet.
Olin Chlor Alkali Products will utilize the Impress Engine to implement a B2B e-business solution which will allow customers the ability to place an order on the B2B Selling Web site and have their back end ERP system updated with the order information. Both the system-to-Web and system-to-system solutions will utilize and be fully integrated with Olin's existing business processes within its SAP system. To further strengthen the relationship, Impress will publish information stored in Olin's business information warehouse via the Web site and present MSDS information that is stored in Olin's content management system.
The Impress Engine delivers substantial supply chain efficiencies to Olin by allowing real time transactions and communication with key customers. Olin can easily extend this process automation to new customers via XML connectivity, enabling them to place and track orders via their Web browsers. The entire solution fully leverages the data and business processes residing in Olin's SAP system, extending its productivity to the Web.
