FTD.com and American Airlines Form Partnership - Brief Article

FTD.com has entered into a multi-year partnership with American Airlines to offer both FTD.com and American Airlines customers AAdvantage miles for purchases from FTD.com. Customers will receive 10 American AAdvantage miles for every dollar spent on flowers and specialty gifts at FTD.com.

Strong marketing efforts by both companies will support this new partnership. FTD.com will execute e-mail and direct marketing campaigns to its existing customer database, as well as newsletters and inserts to American's customer base of 43 million members. American Airlines will promote FTD.com to its customers through mailings and other marketing channels as one of its top, preferred marketing partners for flowers and gifts.

"This partnership provides FTD.com with the ability to market to more than 43 million new consumers and offer them something they want -- more AAdvantage Miles and beautiful flowers and gifts from FTD.com," said Michael Soenen, president and CEO of FTD.com. "As we look toward our fiscal year 2002, we are pleased to have one of the leading airline brands on board as a strong marketing partner for FTD.com."
