ISP Business, July, 2001
Trend Micro announced an agreement enabling Verizon Online, an Internet business service provider, to offer virus protection services as part of the ISP's outsourced e-mail offerings.
As part of its complete portfolio of Internet products, Verizon provides outsourced e-mail services for organizations demanding a secure and highly available messaging system. Virus scanning, which protects subscribers from computer viruses, trojans, worms, and other forms of malicious code and content, will be a standard feature for selected mailbox services packages.
"Verizon s choice of Trend Micro will provide a safer environment for its business e-mail subscribers," said Steve Chang, CEO of Trend Micro. "Internet users worldwide are increasingly aware of the virus issue, and by offering a managed virus protection service to its subscribers, Verizon differentiates itself from its competitors and demonstrates a high level of customer commitment through a core value-added security service."
