DigitalThink Selected by Aspect Communications to Provide Strategic E-learning Solutions - Brief Article
ISP Business, Sept, 2000
Aspect Communications Corp. has selected DigitalThink to develop an e-learning portal to educate Aspect's sales organization, channel partners, and customers on Aspect's software products. The company expects to reduce ramp time to sale by educating their sales force and channel partners through the e-learning portal DigitalThink is developing.
Additionally, Aspect's customers will be able to gain a full overview of the portfolio of the company's products and have on-line training immediately available to them when they purchase a product which will enable them to deploy Aspect products more quickly and efficiently.
DigitalThink is building modular courses for Aspect in order to create separate courses for the various audiences - sales force, channel partners, and customers. This method will allow the companies to roll out courses faster. In fact, the companies expect the complete curriculum to be available by the end of the year.
"Aspect is part of a growing number of companies that know e-learning is a strategic tool for accelerating global competitive advantage in the New Economy, " said Keith Carlson, chief customer officer of DigitalThink. "DigitalThink's market-leading business service provider model means we can meet the unique needs of Aspect Communications in a way that is infinitely scalable and that assures we maintain the quality of our award-winning solutions -- all while demonstrating clear ROI."
The e-learning solution being developed by DigitalThink for Aspect is available through any standard Internet connection 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in any time zone. As with all DigitalThink courses, the Aspect curriculum is a true e-learning experience, because the courses are designed and developed for the Internet. DigitalThink's instructional designers create courses geared to engage the student in ways that only the Web provides, blending proven teaching techniques with simulations that guide students through typical situations they are likely to encounter.
DigitalThink courses average 40 percent interactivity, requiring students to play an active role in receiving information. Integrated features such as on-line tutor support and a virtual community of classmates blends the best of the Web with critical person-to-person interaction. DigitalThink handles technology requirements, from e-commerce capabilities and student registration, to 24x7 course delivery, to tracking and reporting, on a completely outsourced basis.
