Akamai Technologies and PSINet Inc., the Internet super carrier announced an expansion of their exiting partnership though which PSINet will offer the full suite of Akamai's Internet content, streaming media, and applications delivery services to its worldwide customer base.

Building on the strategic relationship the companies established in January that included the massive deployment of Akamai servers throughout PSINet's global Internet backbone, PSINet will enrich its value-added Internet services for its customers though the offering of Akamai services on an end-to-end content delivery network (CDN). As part of the agreement, PSINet will make available Akamai's FreeFlow content delivery, FreeFlow Streaming media delivery, and FirstPoint global traffic management services, outfitting its customers with high-performance, reliable, and scalable Internet end users.
