Sun Microsystems and GlobalCenter Inc., a Global Crossing Ltd. subsidiary, announced a strategic agreement in which the companies intend to combine efforts and expertise that will enable GlobalCenter to identify and deliver services designed specifically for the media and entertainment industry. This combined effort includes marketing and technology development initiatives. The agreement is based on a non-binding memorandum of understanding and is subject to the negotiation and close of a definitive agreement.

As part of the agreement, GlobalCenter intends to designate Sun as one of its preferred platform providers for services critical to the media and entertainment industry, including storage, software products, and server-based solutions. In turn, Sun intends to designate GlobalCenter as a premier provider for these advanced solutions for the media and entertainment industry. The new services would be available through GlobalCenter's sales organization.
