Toshiba Chooses Sphera Hosting Director to Manage Its Hosting Operations - Brief Article
ISP Business, Sept, 2001
Sphera announced that the iValue Creation Company (iVC), one of the in-house companies of Toshiba, has selected Sphera HostingDirector to automate and manage its Web hosting business operations. Sphera HostingDirector will enable iVC to streamline hosting processes and offer new services and value-added applications throughout Toshiba's regional offices, subsidiaries, and their many sites.
IVC, one of Toshiba's 10 in-house companies, was established in April 2000 to spearhead Toshiba's new Internet, e-commerce, and mobile Internet hosting offering. The company is also a wireless ASP for the Japanese and Asian market and currently provides access for several million consumers per day. As investment in data center operations in Japan rapidly expands, iVC and Toshina will concentrate resources on products that will provide the greatest competitive advantage in all aspects of mobile applications and network company-wide.
The power of Sphera HostingDirector is in its open architecture software platform and extensibility, enabling iVC to offer Toshiba a rich complement of Web services and applications. Using the HostingDirector SDK and API provides iVC with an ongoing evolution path for its hosting offerings.
Current and next-generation hosting services, coupled with easily-added applications, will also be managed by Sphera's unique, scalable technology. HostingDirector delivers critical advances in hosting resource utilization, application extensibility, and service provisioning. Sphera's flagship product streamlines complex hosting processes, thereby reducing administrative costs and delivering higher value to Toshiba.
