Kite Networks Taps Bechtel Corp. as Strategic Implementation Partner

Wireless Internet, May, 2001

Kite Networks, an integrated communications provider for small- and medium-sized businesses and consumers, announced that it has chosen Bechtel Telecommunications, a global engineering-construction organization, as its strategic implementation partner. Bechtel will assist Kite Networks in its rollout and delivery of fixed wireless broadband services in select metropolitan areas across the country. The two companies already collaborated to launch Kite Networks' successfully beta test in Phoenix, AZ.

The company will benefit from existing agreements Bechtel has established with equipment suppliers, tower construction and installation companies, and engineering firms, which are all well-positioned throughout Kite Networks' target cities. Kite Networks and Bechtel will establish regional offices in key cities across the US to efficiently manage the system deployment and service delivery.
