Wireless Internet, May, 2001
Now AOL subscribers can get their important e-mails anytime - even when away from their computer. WebLink Wireless Inc. announced customers can now send, receive, reply, and forward e-mails from their personal America Online accounts wirelessly using a two-way powered by WebLink Wireless.
The addition of AOL adds to the growing list of personal on-line e-mail consumers can access using WebLink Wireless' Remote Email Manager, which allows customers to access multiple e-mail accounts using a two-way virtually wherever they go.
Remote Email Manager already helps people manage accounts with other popular Internet-based communications providers such as Yahoo!, as well as e-mail accounts from nearly 8,000 Internet service providers including AT&T@Home, Earthlink, and Worldnet.

According to a recent survey by Service Strategies International, a Dallas-based consumer research firm, 72 percent of customers using the Motorola Talkabout T900 on WebLink Wireless' nationwide network do so for messaging and e-mail. And 67 percent were either extremely or somewhat likely to use a feature that forwards e-mail from their personal accounts to their T900.
Remote Email Manager lets customers receive messages from their existing e-mail accounts, with the option to filter their e-mail so they can choose exactly what they want to receive. Customers can also choose to view the text of the message or just a summary header that includes the names of attached files. They can read all or part of the message, reply, forward, or delete the e-mail from their inbox. Forwarded messages can include the original attachments, and replies to the original e-mail appear as if they came from the customer's on-line e-mail address.
