Cell-Loc Enters into Long-Term Agreement with Brazilian Partner - Brief Article

Wireless Internet, August, 2001

Cell-Loc announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Amapri Telecom, a telecommunications system integrator company based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The business deal, which involved a five-year build-out and speaks to on-going and future opportunities, is valued at over $60 million and provides Amapri with the sole rights to Cellocate Beacon-enabled location-based services such as asset tracking in the South American market. Cell-Loc retains the rights to offer location-based services through other wireless devices that integrate Cellocate technology.

Specifically, Cell-Loc will receive revenue from the sale of Cellocate position determining equipment (PDE), the deployment of those products into a wireless location network, licensing fees, and royalty payments. Work will begin immediately, with the first key milestone, a full network deployment in Sao Paulo, Brazil, being scheduled for completion by July 2002. This is a direct consequence of the successful Cell-Loc technology trial in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, that took place last November 2000.
