Out on a limb cases we never would have gotten without the "new" homeopathic thinking - Healing with Homeopathy

Chief physical complaints: constipation and headaches

Which of the recently introduced techniques did we use to prescribe successfully for Danny?

1. We learned the method of asking Danny what other people in similar situations might feel, from Divya Chhabra. This allowed us to go more deeply into his case and understand him better.

2. The expanded materia medica of the periodic table. Danny's case has many features of a Baryta. In the past we might have prescribed Baryta carbonica for him. However the emphasis on rudeness, profound aloneness, and regret in addition to the fear of looking stupid, are better covered by Cesium, which is just to the left of barium in the periodic table. This is a remedy that has not been proven, but whose picture has been extrapolated by Divya from her own clinical experience. Had we not just learned about this remedy the day before at her seminar, we would never have known to prescribe it. Would a Baryta have worked as well? Who knows?

It is now ten months since we first prescribed Cesium for Danny. The improvement was marked by his six-week followup. His mother described him as "brighter, less melancholic, not as fixed, happier, more upbeat, more motivated scholastically." Danny's handwriting improved. His began to "banter" with his peers, was less obsessive, more relaxed and less "tightly wound." "Just happier in his own skin. Not as down on himself." Danny felt less irritable, his teachers described him as "more comfortable and at ease." His "thinking was more connected." Danny has ventured out more - to some parties, a zendo, and to Mexico. He has slimmed down and recently shared with his mom that he was "grateful for all the health stuff" she had done for him. Self-confidence has improved quite a bit and his sense of humor is emerging. Headaches and constipation are better as well. We saw Danny recently and were impressed by the visible change in him. He is thinner and more self-assured. His mother told us she was "thrilled" with his p rogress.

Case 3: Shy and Embarrassed and Sucking Sky

Carol, age 44, called us for help with depression. "I'm a mess. I'm on Prozac for outright depression. For my black-hole days. Before I couldn't even cope with making a grocery list much less getting to the store. Low energy. Lots of fatigue. Five miscarriages. My husband's addictions have been quite a problem for me. I'm not one to easily leave the marriage. My hope is to stop Prozac.

"On my worst days I'd feel immobilized, scared to death...bordering on panic attacks. I was feeling helpless and powerless. Filled with anxiety and despair. I just couldn't stop my mind. I was not able to be present. Just stuck in this mindset of 'What should I do? What should I do?' Unable to make a decision.

"I get so, so tired. Oppressed by fatigue. Listless. So tired that I would close my eyes at stoplights. And so depressed. I just wanted to go in a hole, wrap myself in a blanket, and pull the floorboards over me. I could lay there all day. Getting out in the fresh air always helped.
