Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedOut on a limb cases we never would have gotten without the "new" homeopathic thinking - Healing with Homeopathy
Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, May, 2002 by Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman, Robert Ullman
"There's a connection with me watching birds soar...expansive. It's a spiritual thing for me. I like watching the sky move. The moon changing phases and stars moving across the sky."
Is there a particular bird that you relate to?
"Clearly a hawk. I just like them circling...the way they glide. They just seem so free. They're above it all. They feel noble to me."
Physical symptoms: chronic headaches, stiffness upper back and neck, dysmenorrhea, ovarian cysts, cyst on left hand.

The new concepts we used in this case were recent provings, remedy families, and free association. We gave Carol Buteo or Red-tailed hawk based on Jonathan Shore's proving involving 110 provers in Finland and Germany. The themes are responsibility to one's family and a desire for freedom. Irritability is more pronounced than in other bird remedies. Carol's depression, headaches, and dysmenorrhea are covered nicely by the rubrics in the hawk proving as well as dreams of flying, feeling of oneness, and her desire to curl up.
By seven weeks Carol had halved her dosage of Prozac, felt happier. The cyst on her left hand was no longer painful and it had reduced in size. Her period was shorter and less painful. "I have an overall sense of well-being. It's pretty amazing." Carol's confidence had returned and she no longer felt indecisive. She felt less pushed by duty. "I'm just walking lightly. My husband is expressing appreciation for how nonreactive, supportive, loving, and compassionate I am. I no longer feel the need to suck sky. I'm happier with my own piece of sky." Headaches were much milder and her previous dreams of teeth falling out were gone. With subsequent followups the cyst on her hand was absolutely free of pain as were her periods. In a very recent followup one year after first taking Hawk, Carol felt fine in all ways.
Setting the Record Straight
We find the advances in contemporary homeopathic thinking to be brilliant additions to the tried and true wisdom of past homeopathic masters. Why not combine the best of past and present? At the current rate of expansion of information, we can only imagine the amazing advances homeopathy will make in the coming decades.
By the way, if any of you run into Gary Null, could you please set him straight and tell him we have been married for eighteen years. And that Dana, although a good friend, did not even attend our wedding much less stand up at the altar!
