An appreciation of George Goodheart, DC, originator of applied kinesiology

Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, July, 2004 by Stephen J. Kaufman

You only get to keep what you give away. From the time I was a student, Dr. Goodheart would share his wide range of knowledge unhesitatingly. He inculcated in me the attitude that good ideas were the Lord's, and it was a holy duty to share them. He published prodigiously, techniques you could use now. George taught me that the healing arts were an opportunity to share, not just a "job." "If you catch fire about something, people will come from miles around to watch you burn."

Perhaps the most important thing I've learned from him is the need to observe constantly, and ask "why is that?" This is the true scientific method.

Thanks, Dr. Goodheart, for being my teacher.
