Civcom - SFS Technology - Brief Article

Civcom has released its SFS (solid free space) technology that, according to the company, provides the foundation for high-performance multi-function all-optical switches. SFS is based on free space propagation architecture with proprietary static elements.

It is a solid-state switch so it contains no moving parts and provides fast-switching speeds (within the range of sub-millisecond and sub-microsecond) for next-generation all-optical network applications says Civcom. Other features include low insertion loss and less susceptibility to external conditions.
