Agilent technologies - Network Analyser - Brief Article

Telecommunications International, Feb, 2002

The network analyser is a test tool that helps companies troubleshoot increasingly complex networks and services while reducing the costs associated with downtime says Agilent. According to the company, it is the only solution on the market that enables network technicians to test all major applications (voice, IP telephony and mobile) on critical network technologies (for example, LAN, WAN or ATM) with a single product in real-time.

It provides flexibility because it is available in different forms -- an integrated version for dispatched use; a distributed version, which can be used remotely; and a software version that turns any PC with off-the-shelf network interface cards into a analysis system.

Other features and benefits of the product include: a high-performance network acquisition system capable of supporting high-speed LANs and WANs simultaneously; -- time-synchronised correlation of network data; and graphical analysis of network data across multiple networks, including analysis of long-term intermittent problems, network benchmarking and base lining.
