Dogmatism
New Internationalist, April, 2008 by Malcolm Brown
I believe that NI is wrong to call for a boycott of Lonely Planet over the Burma guide (Ethical Travel, NI 409).

Lonely Planet has not hidden the record of the Burmese regime, and they are entitled to present both sides of the argument. NI's dogmatism on this issue reeks of a 'we know best' attitude and a complete intolerance of disagreement. I shall not go to Burma as long as the current regime is still in power, but I shall not boycott Lonely Planet for taking a principled position which happens to be different from that of NI.
