I-Money launches financial website - Corp

Money Digest, Nov, 1997

Finding a wide range of financial information in one spot is difficult. I-Money Corp. has just launched a new website (www.imoney.com) which allows consumers to not only get up-to-date financial information, but also to analyze your portfolio, provide stock and mutual fund quotes, get involved in forum discussions and link to selected financial institutions to shop around for different products.

When you access the site, you have a choice of five different menus:

1. Timely Info -- up-to date prices, interest rates, stock and fund quotes, and financial news articles from Reuters, The Financial Post and 680 News;

2. Knowledge Base -- providing research from Smart Money Guide and glossaries of mutual fund, personal finance and investing terminology;

3. Tools -- lets you do stock or fund graphing, analyze funds, devise a budget or calculate other products;

4. Purchase -- links you up with I-Money partners so you can shop around and purchase financial products; and,

5. Community -- lets you into discussion forums and chats.

Consumers do not pay to access this wealth of information. A charge will happen only when a purchase is made (e.g. like a mortgage broker)

Among some of the corporations that have signed up with I-Money are: Canada Trust, AGF Mgmt., Trimark Financial, E-Trade, Fidelity Investments, CIBC's First Line Mortgages, Templeton Management, and Canadian General Insurance. The company is projecting that the number of partners will triple in the new year with perhaps one or two U.S. financial institutions joining.
