RBC software beefs up online security
Money Digest, Nov, 2002
RBC Royal Bank of Canada is now offering customers more Internet banking protection at home.
For those who don't necessarily have the latest virus protection or firewalls in their computers, RBC's Freedom software will protect users from hackers and intruders, will prevent Web sites from tracking a user s whereabouts, will prevent personal information from leaving the PC and will speed up and secure onlines registrations and transactions.
The bank is offering the software free to clients for one year. After the one-year period, existing users will be able to subscribe at a special reduced fee. A premium service will also be available.
