TV personalities Carol Smillie and Lawrence LLewelyn-Bowen are competing for charitable donations this Christmas

Financial Management (UK), Dec, 2000

TV personalities Carol Smillie and Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen are competing for charitable donations this Christmas. Smillie is urging accountancy firms to make a last push to raise funds for Children's Promise (accountancy firms were the most generous supporters of last year's appeal for people to give an hour's pay), while Llewelyn-Bowen is calling for 1 [pounds sterling] donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in return for gold, silver and red Christmas tree decorations.

On the other hand, if you want to pledge more active support, MS is the official charity of next April's Flora London Marathon and is looking for runners to join the MS Marathon Superstars team. Pre-event support and advice on raising money will be provided. MS Marathon Superstars: 0870 241 3565 Children's Promise: 0870 607 1999
