Microsoft's acquisition of Navision is bad news for Navision customers, according to Graham Steinsberg, chief executive of software group Coda

Financial Management (UK), June, 2002

Microsoft's acquisition of Navision is bad news for Navision customers, according to Graham Steinsberg, chief executive of software group Coda. "They will be in for a long period of uncertainty," he told Financial Management. "At a tricky economic time customers need to work in close partnership with their application suppliers to deliver improved financial analysis and forecasting." Steinsberg said that, while Microsoft excelled at producing one-size-fits-all systems, it was poor at "customer intimacy". Microsoft announced the 900 million [pounds sterling] takeover last month. Navision's corporate headquarters in Denmark will become the centre of development and operations for Microsoft Business Solutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
