Mint Lessons - lesson-planning booklets offered by U.S. Mint - Brief Article
School Administrator, Nov, 2001
The U.S. Mint offers free lesson plans, based on its popular 50 State Quarters Program, to teach elementary school students about history, geography and heritage of each state plus lessons in math using the new coinage.
The U.S. Mint will develop three sets of lesson plans, one for kindergarten/1st, another for 2nd/3rd and a third for 4th through 6th grade, using the new quarters for that year. Each booklet includes six individual lesson plans with teachers' pages, reproducible handouts, background information and answer keys.
To download a free copy of the lesson plans, visit the U.S. Mint Web site at www.USMINT.gov under Mint Programs/Education Initiative.
