Susan C. Garton

After a five-year stint as an associate professor of educational administration and supervision at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill., Susan Garton has assumed the superintendency of Southeast Warren Community School District in Liberty Center, Iowa. Earlier she was interim superintendent in Wilton, Iowa.

Jesse L. Gonzales

Jesse Gonzales, an educator for 35 years, is the new superintendent in Compton, Calif. Gonzales previously was superintendent in Las Cruces, N.M., for a dozen years. His first superintendency was in Bernalillo, N.M., and earlier he served as personnel administrator for the Hobbs, N.M., schools and as principal of two California high schools.

Thomas Hicks

The school district in Racine, Wis., has a new chief executive in Thomas Hicks. For four years prior, Hicks was superintendent of the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools in Flint, Mich. He earlier was superintendent of Owosso Public Schools and Pellston Public schools, both in Michigan. Hicks has been a public school administrator for 30 years.

Charles H. Lackey

Charles Lackey has taken over the top spot of Laurens County School District 56 in Clinton, S.C. He previously served as superintendent in Middlesex County, Va. Lackey entered central-office administration as coordinator for dropout prevention in Danville, Va. Lackey also was principal of Danville's George Washington High School.

Cameron M. McCune

Fullerton, Calif., School District has a new superintendent in Cameron McCune. He formerly was assistant superintendent of human resources at Walnut Valley Unified School District in Walnut, Calif. McCune earlier was assistant superintendent in Ocean View School District in Huntington Beach, Calif., and a district director in Santa Ana, Calif.

Todd C. Sesker

After two years as the superintendent in Goodhue, Minn., Todd Sesker is now superintendent in Cannon Falls, Minn. Sesker had earlier spent 14 years with the Spring Grove, Minn., Public Schools, where he served as assistant principal, athletic director, head football coach and a teacher of secondary mathematics and computer science.
