Ruth A. Kane

Ruth Kane returns to school administration as the district superintendent in Hitchcock, Texas. She comes from New York Citybased LearnNow Inc., where she was vice president for education. Earlier Kane served as assistant superintendent in Austin, Texas, where she also served as principal at Lanier High School.

Paul E. Kulik

The new deputy superintendent at the Franklin County Educational Service Center in Columbus, Ohio, is Paul Kulik. He spent five years in the superintendency at Grandview Heights City Schools, also in Columbus. Earlier Kulik was director of curriculum at South Euclid-Lyndhurst City Schools in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Gary A. Livingston

Educational Service District 113 in Olympia, Wash., has a new superintendent in Gary Livingston. He previously was superintendent in Spokane, Wash., and Topeka, Kan. Livingston spent 15 years in Topeka, serving as coordinator of special education, director of curriculum and instruction services and associate superintendent.

Bob Lovingood

The new superintendent of Christian County Schools in Hopkinsville, Ky., is Bob Lovingood. He earlier served two terms as superintendent in Monroe, Tenn., as well as supervisor of vocational education. Lovingood spent 12 years as principal of the Monroe County, Tenn., Vocational Center,

J. David Martin

David Martin is the new superintendent in Fauquier County, Va. He earlier served as superintendent of Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools in Williamsburg, Va, Before that he held the top job in Henry County and Manassas Park, both in Virginia. Martin also served as assistant superintendent in Clarke County, Va.

Cheryl Ruth

A first-time superintendent, Cheryl Ruth took over the top berth in the Windham Central Supervisory Union in Newfane, Vt., in July. Ruth previously was an assistant superintendent in the district for four years. Earlier she directed special programs in Salem, Conn., and special education in Sprague, Conn.
