Libia S. Gil
Libia Gil has assumed the superintendency of the 19,000-student Chula Vista, Calif., Elementary School District after a two-year stint as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instructional support in the Seattle Public Schools. She held several other administrative posts in Seattle and earlier was an elementary school principal in Cerritos, Calif.
Ed Goodwin
After 23 years as superintendent in Perry, Ohio, Ed Goodwin has joined Burgess & Nipple, an engineering and consulting firm in Painesville, Ohio, where he consults on educational facilities. Earlier, Goodwin was an assistant superintendent and superintendent in Goshen, Ohio, and was a principal in Franklin and Blanchester, both in the Buckeye State.
Deloris M. Saunders
The Department of Defense Dependents Schools have appointed Debris Muldrow Saunders as education equity program manager. She previously was an associate professor and program coordinator for educational administration at George Washington University and in 1992 she started an educational consulting firm. Saunders has served on several advisory committees at AASA.
Arthur Steller
The new deputy superintendent in the Boston Public Schools is Arthur Steller, most recently superintendent in Cobb County, Ga. Earlier, he was superintendent in Oklahoma City and Mercer County, W. Va. Steller, who is president-elect of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, also was an administrator in Montgomery County, Md., and Beverly, Mass.
