Drug abuse prevention - Bits & Pieces - National Institute on Drug Abuse campaign - Brief Article

The National Institute on Drug Abuse, one of the National Institutes of Health, has launched a multipronged campaign aimed at preventing drug abuse in students.

"NIDA for Teens: The Science Behind Drug Abuse" includes an interactive website geared for youngsters 11 to 15. Other materials include "The Brain: Understanding Neurobiology Through the Study of Addiction," a curriculum for high school students, and "Mind Over Matter," a series of informational magazines for grades 5 to 9.

The materials are available for free from NIDA. They can be accessed by calling 800-729-6686.
