Improving Math - performance of U.S. students in math and science - Brief Article

The U.S. Department of Education has released a follow-up report on the Third International Mathematics and Science Study titled "Improving Mathematics in Middle School: Lessons From TIMSS and Related Research."

Research from TIMSS shows that U.S. students are behind their international peers in mathematics achievement. The report provides educators with suggestions on how to improve mathematics education in the middle grades including making the curriculum more ambitious and how to enhance classroom instruction.
