School Administrator, March, 2001

Jay S. Cason

Jay Cason has returned to his native state to assume the superintendency of the Bourbon County Schools in Paris, Ky. Cason spent the past six years in Michigan where he served as principal of Grand Haven Senior High School and superintendent in Middleville. Earlier, he was principal of Jackson Hole High School in Jackson, Wyo.

Randall M. Olson

After serving 10 years as the superintendent for Placer Union High School District in Auburn, Calif., Randall Olson has moved to Acalanes Union High School District in Lafayette, Calif. His first superintendency was with the Gonzales, Calif., Union High School District, where he started his career as an English teacher.

Suellen K. Reed

Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Suellen Reed was recently elected president-elect of the Council of Chief State School Officers. A former district superintendent in the Hoosier State, Reed has served on CCSSO task forces and the finance committee. She will begin her term as president in November.

LeRoy Seitz

The new superintendent of the Hunterdon, N.J., Central Schools is LeRoy Seitz. Previously Seitz was superintendent in Woodbridge Township, N.J., after serving as that district's assistant superintendent. Seitz moved to New Jersey from Pennsylvania, where he was assistant principal at Methacton High School and Shippensburg High School.

James L. Stevens

James Stevens recently assumed the superintendency of the Hopkins County Schools in Madisonville, Ky. He had been the district's assistant superintendent of facilities management. Stevens began his career in 1966 and has served as principal for several schools, including Waddill Avenue Elementary School and South Hopkins High School.

Patricia Wool

The San Carlos, Calif., School District recently welcomed a new superintendent in Patricia Wool. Previously Wool was assistant superintendent of instructional services in Benicia, Calif. She also has served as a principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Wool began her career teaching at the middle school level.
