John A. Phillips Jr.
The 32,000-student Muscogee County School District in Columbus, Ga., has a new superintendent, John Phillips Jr. He spent the four previous years in the same post in the Bartow County system in Cartersville, Ga. Of his 34 years in public education, 20 have been spent in the superintendency. Phillips also worked as a principal at all three levels.
