An educator for more than 30 years, Connie Calloway recently moved into the super-intendency of the 116,000-student Detroit Public Schools. Calloway earlier served in two superintendent positions: the Normandy, Mo., School District and the Trotwood-Madison City Schools in Trotwood, Ohio. An Alabama native and the first college graduate in her family, Calloway has taught in the public schools of Boston and Cleveland, Ohio, and taught adult education at a military program in West Germany. She holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Ohio University.
