Hiring Agent - Brief Article
School Administrator, May, 1996
The University of Missouri-Columbia's College of Education will play the novel role of hiring agent to staff a newly formed public school district in St. Louis.
The university will recruit and recommend teachers and administrators for the St. Louis Career Education District, which starting this fall will provide vocational-technical education to secondary school students. The district was created by order of a U.S. District Court that is overseeing desegregation in Missouri.
The College of Education will create a task force to screen applicants, review applications, and conduct interviews. The college never previously performed this type of service.
