Perry K. Hellum

A long tenure as a public school educator will conclude in June for Perry Hellum, who will retire as superintendent of the Silver Lake, Wis., district. He has served in that post since 1968 after serving as a teacher in Neenah, Wis. Hellum also has worked as a graduate school faculty member at the University of Wisconsin.

David M. Hutton

The Bay City, Mich., Public Schools recently welcomed David Hutton as superintendent of the 10,500-student district. Earlier, Hutton spent 11 years as superintendent in Lebanon, Ind., moving to the top spot after eight years as assistant superintendent. He joined the Lebanon district as a building administrator in 1974.

Ruth Ann McKenna

Following a three-year stint as chief deputy superintendent with the California Department of Education, Ruth Ann McKenna will assume the superintendency of the New Haven Unified Schools in Union City, Calif., the district she left for the state agency post. She spent 13 years in New Haven as associate superintendent and teacher.

Robert Saunders

After spending the full 28 years of his career with the Huntsville, Ala., schools, Ron Saunders has moved into the superintendency of the Barrow County Schools in Winder, Ga. Saunders served as superintendent in Huntsville for seven years. He started as a secondary school teacher, then spent time as staff development director and principal.

Rolfe W. Wenner

Amity Regional School District No. 5 in Woodbridge, Conn., has a new superintendent in Rolfe Wenner. He earlier served as superintendent in New Fairfield, Conn. His career started in Delaware as a teacher, coach and assistant principal before he moved to Connecticut to serve as a principal and assistant superintendent.

Michael J. Wilson

After six years in the superintendency of the Mill Creek Valley Unified Schools in Alma, Kan., Mike Wilson this summer moves into the same berth in the 2,200-student Unified School District 469 in Lansing, Kan. He earlier spent nine years as superintendent/elementary principal in the Golden Plains Unified Schools in Selden, Kan.
