John C. Hefty

A 40-year educator, John Hefty, this month assumes the executive directorship of the Colorado Association of School Executives. Hefty has been superintendent of the Brighton, Colo., Public Schools since 1998. Earlier he was superintendent in Eagle, Colo., and deputy superintendent in Jefferson County, Colo.
Hefty also has served for 22 years as an adjunct professor in school executive preparation at the University of Denver. He began as a junior high science teacher.
