Ethnic gaps
School Administrator, June, 2005
The Brookings Institution and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University jointly published the first volume of the Future of Children journal titled "School Readiness: Closing Racial and Ethnic Gaps."
The journal focuses on children's lives before they get to kindergarten in an effort to understand how to close the racial and ethnic gaps in school achievement.
The volume's eight chapters, authored by leading scholars, address the size of the gap, examine possible explanations for differences in school readiness and identify policies that hold promise for closing the gap and improving outcomes for children.
