Lenore Janman

Lenore Janman is starting her first full year as superintendent of the Adrian, Mich., district after two years as assistant superintendent for human resources and administrative services in Sioux Falls, S.D. Janman also has worked as director of human resources in St. Cloud, Minn., where she also was interim superintendent.

Charles L. Little

The Indiana Urban Schools Association welcomes a new executive director this month. Charles Little also will serve as a professor of school administration at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. Little spent the past five years as superintendent of the Plymouth-Canton, Mich., schools.

Sterling I. Marshall

Following a two-month stint as deputy superintendent, Sterling Marshall was elevated to the superintendency of the Chester Upland School District in Pennsylvania. He had spent most of his administrative career in Prince George's County, Md. Marshall's posts included area superintendent and special assistant for professional development.

Edward P. Mavragis

After 33 years as a public educator in New York state, Ed Mavragis is returning to his home state to assume the superintendency of the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional Schools in Massachusetts. He has served as superintendent of three Long Island districts: Seaford, East Quogue and Amityville.

Irv Maskowitz

After five years at the helm of the Denver Public Schools, Irv Moskowitz has moved on to the directorship of the Center for Urban Education at University of Northern Colorado. Previously, he served as superintendent in Pomona, Calif., and Cleveland Heights-University Heights, Ohio. Moskowitz earlier worked in Denver as assistant superintendent.

Lawrence C. Pekoe

Lawrence Pekoe has returned to Illinois to assume the top berth of the Deerfield Public Schools. He had spent eight years as superintendent of the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District in Wisconsin. Earlier, Pekoe was an assistant superintendent and principal in Waukegan, Ill. He succeeds Max McGee, now the state superintendent.
