William Decker

The Middle East is the new home of William Decker, who this fall assumes the superintendency of the American School of Kuwait. Decker served for the last 10 years as superintendent of the Menosha, Wis., Joint School District. He was 1992 Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year.

James F. Donovan

The Millburn, N.J., Township Public Schools are starting the school year with a new superintendent, James Donovan. He had served as chief school officer for the Hamilton, N.J., Township Public Schools. Harold Webb Associates handled the search for the Millburn school board.

Linda B. Eldridge

The Aiken, S.C., Consolidated School District opened the year with a new superintendent, Linda Eldridge. She had been the assistant superintendent for instruction in Alachua County, Fla. Eldridge succeeds Joseph Brooks, who retired, as head of the 27,000-student system.

James M. Halley

After a 5 1/2-year stint as superintendent of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Okinawa, Japan, James Halley has returned stateside to the superintendency in North Kingstown, R.I. Halley earlier spent 15 years as a teacher and principal in the DODDS system in West Germany.

James A. Street

A four-decade career in public education concluded this summer for James Street, who retired as superintendent of the Bristol, Tenn., City Schools. He previously was superintendent in Tallassee, Ala., and spent 11 years as executive director of the Alabama Council for School Administration and Supervision.

Esperanza Zendejas

The 47,000-student Indianapolis school system has a new superintendent, Esperanza Zendejas. She served as superintendent in Brownsville, Texas, since 1992 and earlier was superintendent in the California districts of Desert Sands and Westmoreland. Zendejas also held two principalships.
