Recently assuming the top administrative berth in the Social Circle, Ga., City School District is Bettye Ray. She spent the four previous years as superintendent in Stewart County in Lumpkin, Ga. She also spent two years as director of the secondary school curriculum in Newton County Schools in Covington, Ga.
Ray spent the majority of her career in Social Circle, where she started as a high school teacher before eventually becoming middle school principal, then high school principal in 1996-97.
