ANDREW REYNOLDS HAS BEEN HEADING UP THE BAKER TOUR, which is a paragon of efficiency. Coming correctly, the Bakers drive a single van picking up whatever, whomever and whenever. They added so many people that by the time they reached New York there wasn't even room for Ghetto Jay, O'Dell, or Knox Godoy. Terry Kennedy got his first bee sting in Philly, and was seen running around some bar drinking old beer out of empty bottles in celebration.

All's said to be good between Terry and Stevie (though his boys got a bit overeager, no word on if any curb sessioning took place). Reynolds was not ill-recieved, despite Emerica's sponsoring of Corey Duffel, Skateboarding--One Love.

In the You-Can-Fight-City-Hall department, Danny Montoya got a Long Beach city permit (which included a team of deputies) to session the court house rail and get his last trick for the Adio video, One Step Beyond. In the four-hour time slot, Danny not only nailed his manuever, but also got to tell the security guard who has repeatedly kicked him out of the spot for the last year to move along.

The Inland Empire's Tony "Not Da" Silva has joined the F-troop and Pig teams (with his startling display of handrail mastery), while gentle giant Judd Hertzler has been officially let go after years of fickle handling. In related Yeto news-type stuff, Hollywood am Richie Belton is no longer shy. Former Yeto strongman Mark Waters has given up the TV biz and returned to skating with a marketing gig over at Sole Tech and a new mini-ramp complex, the caliber of which has not been seen in OC since Hellbow.

Has the individual once known as "The Man Who Killed Skateboarding" due to his inspired editorship of the mag Action Now been reborn as a Christian filmmaker? Apparently so, for D David Morin has just released a film titled Father which is rife with Christian theological and scriptural references. Visual metaphors jump out of this heartfelt work, such as the eerie presence of prominent surfer/skater Mitch Abshire who sports some sort of science fiction raccoon make-up. Students of skate media may recall that Morin once mixed up vert, horseback riding, BMX, and punk rock in the same Action Now issue. So we reckon that condensing the entire Bible into a 20-minute film should come naturally.

In Memory of Phil Shao the video debuted at San Francisco's Justice League. Copies of the piece, which was done by Greg Smith and Mark Whiteley, are available. Proceeds of sales go to cover the cost of the tape and towards the Shao Skatepark Fund. Call 415.671.2430.

RIP: Paul Hackett, long time Malibu skater and early proponent of foot straps and aerials, succumbed to cancer. His brother David survives him.

Brian Sumner, his wife and one-year-old son as well as Mark Appleyard were driving down Topanga Canyon when they hit some loose gravel. Over-correction of the Jeep Cherokee caused a roll over. The vehicle skidded upon the roof until it impacted a concrete retaining barrier. Fortunately, it stopped them from falling hundreds of feet over a cliff. They are safe but shaken.

A whole lot of people were in Japan, including Kevin Ancell, Keith Hufnagel, Javier Sarmiento, Erik White, Hewitt, Nate Jones, Andy Mac, Dennis Booze 'N' Tits, Gomez Bueno, Cairo Foster, Suski, Bailey and the Butcher. The outrage initiated when Tokyo clan member Jun Bug Ikeda forward-flipped, stage-dove and flattened a particularly well-connected 15th generation cultural icon is everlasting, as is the damage to the haute coture of several females present. Jun Bug's reputation for the absurd is once again reinforced. This may be an even bigger stink than when he got popped for skating in the Imperial Palace.
