Thrasher Magazine, August, 2002 by Sean Cronan
For some reason everybody was excited to be going on this trip. Pros and ams alike. This fact is somewhat unprecedented when considering the current attitude of most of skateboarding's travel-weary pros and ams. Ethan Fowler, Tony Silva, Corey Duffel, Daniel Shimizu, Griffin Collins, Dorian Tucker, Jason Hernandez (filmer), Sean Cronan (photographer), and Charlie Thomas keeping it all together as the TM. It seemed like everyone wanted to get the hell out of their respected Dodges.
The trip was broken up into three semi-equal parts: The Bay Area (San Francisco and outer regions); Portland, Oregon; and Vancouver, British Columbia We spent roughly a week in each area skating, filming, and shooting photos. Occasionally we stopped at the odd skate shop here and there to sign autographs.
HIGHLIGHTS
Corey puking on command anytime, anywhere
Being able to take refuge in Ethan's car for a few days
Visiting North Bend, Washington, the town where the TV series Twin Peaks was filmed
Not getting kicked out of any spots during the entire trip. (Pretty amazing to the majority of us who reside in San Diego, where just pushing down the sidewalk can lead to a ticket.)
Check out photos and see for yourself. We had a great three weeks in the van, and we wouldn't have had it any other way.
