Prime Cuts: Owl's Head Park, Brooklyn, NY - skateboard park - Brief Article

Thrasher Magazine, Jan, 2002 by Pat O'Dell

SINCE OWL'S HEAD OPENED, LOTS OF CITY KIDS HAVE COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK, including Gino lannucci, Joey Alvarez, Ian Reid, Peter Bici, Ivan Perez, Spencer Fujimoto and Supreme Alex and Akira, as well as transients like the Razo brothers, the Serra brothers, Buddy & Rick, Tex Adam, Bato, 5boro heads, Bobo, Rookie girls, Illenium crew, Tony Cox, Dan Tauge, Bobby Puleo, and tons more. Dan Pensyl and Andy Kessler take turns working the door and ripping the park. Having a car helps. Try to go early before it gets too crowded. They divided up the hours between bikers and skaters after a couple dudes got broke off by flying Bike Billys. Mter the session head over to Max Fish and talk about how much the bikes/coping/barneys suck and what radical maneuvers were pulled.

The park is about an hour subway ride from the city. Take the R train to the Bayridge stop and figure it out from there. It may be far, but it's fun.
