Hit it or quit it # 16 - Zine Thing - Brief Article - Critical Essay

Thrasher Magazine, March, 2002 by Wez Lundry

"I humbly submit the next 94 pages of rabid obsession, mind-breaking, stealth hate, spelling abuse, and yuxx galore." Such starts off Jessica Hopper and friends' Hit It Or Quit It #16, cutted-and-pasted lots of the time, funny/witty/sarcastic/mean/nice, hella arty typos, and music writing which beats out all those other old-stale-negative indie newsprint 'zines that are still rearing their ugly heads.

Standouts include the Cave In Interview, where two faux-journalists compose questions for frontman Steven Brodsky from an entirely faked and preposterous bio sheet--just slightly more hilarious than the advice column letter by the person who wonders why the old scratch-n-sniff of the public transit seat, post-finey, offers more satisfaction on BART than Muni or Cal-Train. Sick as in bad, sick as in good. Send $2.50 to PO Box 14624, Chicago, IL 60614.
