AWFUL TROUTH

BIG RIG KILLS BOY, 10, ON SKATEBOARD

ORANGE--A 10-year-old boy was struck and killed by a big rig ysterday as he skateboarded across the street. The driver of the truck had stopped for other pedestrians before turning right, but apparently didn't see the boy as he skated into the crosswalk, police said. It isn't immediately clear it the driver would face charges.

SKATE HARASSMENT

I skate these streets so battered and torn,

When I skate I live

The people in their fancy cars

Laugh and stare me down,

They took at me so consistantly,

I will not back down,

I feet I'm out of step

Am I invading their world?

Am I breaking "the law?"

America--land of the oppressed,

Skateboarding has become a crime

Knobbed rails and ledges

They send us to juvenile for this crime

I guess it's all worth the paint and tare

Undercover cops

Keep watch in the parking garage

Security guards on their carts

Try and take my board away

This is my life

I dont wanna see the future

The road ahead can only get worse

This crime is our freedom.
