PILLOW FIGHT UPDATE: CASWELL BERRY LEFT TOY MACHINE to ride with his Tilt Mode pals at Enjoi, apparently now (and creatively) in the hands of Louie Barletta and Matt Evs. Other Enjoi updates include Mayhew off, Mullen off and Tony Manfre on. Who knows what's up with Mayhew, but it's not like Mullen is sending out sponsor-me videos or anything. Rumors of a new company with him and Daewon are afloat--probably horseshit, because where would that leave Artafact? Don't ask me, dude. I just work here.

In the dreams-really-do-come-true department, the aforementioned Barletta appears to be next in line for his very own massive-income-supplementing signature shoe from Osiris. Fuckin' A, Lou!

In the last bit of Enjoi-related news, Jose "Joe Red" Rojo is no longer riding for Savier and is definitely not the tallest Tilt-Moder (as reported in the SOTY issue.) That honor belongs to Jesse "the SJ BA" Erickson, formerly of Maple. Jose is now a proud member of the Adio team.

Ed Selego's board drought is over as he is the newest member of Habitat. After crushing everything in Miami, Ed was hand-picked by Dill to be the newest soldier of the Sovereign Sect. Boards available soon.

EGYPT BITES

The Pop-War keeps raging, adding Canadian powerhouse Aaron Johnson to the team.

Lincoln Ueda may be on Canadian company Premium. In other Brazilian news, Fabrizio Santos is hell-bent on joining the loop club over at Bob's. Watch out, Breezy!

Split chopped down the program, telling Jake Nunn and Neal Hendrix to do just that. The present crew is Fabrizio, Gagne, Dirty Billy and Collin "Two L's" Provost.

Though this may have occurred months ago, Kevin Staab's comeback on Hollywood skateboards was called off when the mad scientist got the boot. See ya next resurgence, Key!

All is not job cuts and layoffs, however Daxter Lussier found his way back into the action after penning a two-for-one deal with Status skateboards, which includes super-am Dan Roberts. Team manager Brian Young should give himself a raise for that one.

HIGH FIDELITY

Jason Lee and Beth opened their downtown Los Angeles loft to host a party and exhibition of Meeno's photographs. The surfer turned pro skater tamed Scientologist turned actor turned art collector turned philanthropist pulled off the Meeno show all under the banner of the "Jason Lee Foundation." A considerable amount of beings attended whom qualified as one of Mr Lee's many friends. Speaking of, maybe it was just the box-office performance of Stealing Harvard or A Guy Thing, but it seems Jason is back in the skate game, re-teaming with Chris "Dune" Pastras for some sort of resuscitation of the popular Stereo brand. When and where the sticks will surface is unknown, but witnesses to recent sessions with the man report his three-flip is as strong as ever. No news on whether Mike Daher will be involved.

In other Hollywood happenings, Juliette Lewis and Steve Berra are splitsville. Bummer, dude.

FLASH PANTS

And in what has to qualify as one of the greatest scams ever, board builder Dewitt Cannon appears to have figured out how to legally skate some of the most heavily anti-rider enforced prime terrain. Dewitt has apparently succeeded in convincing a number of Hollywood and fashionista types that he is a certified guide and motor home chauffeur. The brilliance of this ploy is that Cannon gets paid to roll public buildings, parking structures, major streets, pools, etc, while the cops direct traffic away for him. Is this all in a day's work? How popular is the sometimes gourmet skateboard builder? Just the other day the infamous director David LaChapelle was seen going the gland in hand in an unsuccessful attempt to ride tandem with Dewitt. No worse for the wear, LaChapelle ran off with Jennifer Lopez.

OSCAR WINNER

The glitz, gore and glory of Yeah Right!, AKA Girls new feature, debuted at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood. Spike Jonze's able direction and the progressive moves captured within are certain to make Yeah Right! a cult classic, and to also mark a paradigm shift in skate cinema To keep things tight, Girl interns gave up their tickets to accommodate such viewers as Nicholas Cage and Kirsten Dunst. The vehicle of the night was the ever-correct Cadillac stretch Escalade, while the stunt of the event was Gonz's running stair case somersault to spine snap neck landing (he pulled it off and walked away) Skip Engblom held court with Julien Stranger. Atiba Jefferson looked like a poster child for NBA attire. Cairo Foster, Sophia C, Trujillo, Dill, Tim Gavin, the Olson twins, Mike York, Brandon Biebel, Joey Brezinski, Mike Carroll, and Daniel Castillo were standouts due to their detached deportment.

Pro turned bluesman Chuck Dinkins is now headlining at the House of Blues in Orlando.

The Zero One Gallery in LA just recently held a memorial tribute show in the honor of Robert Weiss. Works to note were executed by those such as Ed Templeton, Sandow Birk, Chaz Bojoroquez, Robert Williams and one Anthony Ausgang.
