The New Christs

Thrasher Magazine, Sept, 2003 by Wez Lundry

Can you take another Australian early punk compilation CD? Ask yourself: "Will I ever get sick of Radio Birdman or the Saints?" Hopefully the answer is no, and the folks at Festival Mushroom Records want you to answer no as well. They've just released Tales from the Australian Underground: Singles 1976-1989, and of course the pole position goes to Birdman, with the Saints taking track two.

These are all original 7" versions including stuff by the Australian X, The Scientists, The Victims, Lipstick Killers, Birthday Party, and The New Christs. As with all comps, there's always one or two duds in the mix but this one's got a ton of killer stuff and fills out the two CDs well.
