Hey Ryan Sheckler: I just wanted to let you know that you have a future ahead of you in skateboarding. You're doing things that 95-percent of skaters only wish or dream that they could even attempt. Now, you need to realize that it's not about what people say or think about you. Wearing knee pads is like surfing at Rocky Point with a leash on your surfboard--you don't really need a leash, but when you fall, you sure are glad you have one on. The level that you skate at, there's nothing wrong with having some pads on. The choice is yours, not some kook who writes to magazines and probably doesn't even skate. I've been wearing kneepads since they first were invented. Knee sliding rules; it sure beats the hell out of running things out and tearing up your legs. So, hey, take some advice from an old man who still skates: my knees are still working 'cause I wore pads for the last 30 years or so. The choice is yours. It is up to you to decide how you want to skate. Just keep on ripping--pads or no pads.
