Fuck Off 'zine #11, Triple S #18, For Fun 'zine #5, and Amish #1

Awright, since I am lumping things together, here is the Colorado contingent for this month. Colorado must be Colo-Romulan because I get stuff from there all the time, and I know they have some kill parks up there too. Fuck Off 'zine is always a good one, this one being in color and is mostly street oriented, with some local guy interviews. They also sent me a video, which has some pretty kill shit; although, if you are advertising lesbo action in your warning it better be more than a quick peck on the lips between two lady friends. Still, these guys got their shit together and put out a video that makes Colorado look kill (even if they do ignore some spots outside of the Denver area ... Carbondale? Crested Butte? Montrose?). You gotta ask yourself what you have been doing lately.

In the same package came a copy of Triple S. For the cover shot they got a bunch of ladies to pose in bikinis as though they were dropping in, but I guess who cares because most of them can't actually skate. That is what we call "posing." Corny, but it rates a decent concept. Triple S stands for Surf, Skate, Snow, I guess, although I am not sure where the best surf break is in Colorado and we all know how goony snowboarders can be at times. Only in Colorado does this shit make sense. It's kind of unsophisticated, powered by inspirational snowboard rock, but it ain't horrible.

I also got an issue of For Fun 'zine, which is a small but decent read. This one has some coverage of Carbondale, so you know these guys were on it, and a Brazilian tour. The Higher Education smoke shop ad continues to be a headscratcher. Finally, I also got the first issue of Amish skate 'zine. It's a little religious, but I am not detecting Amishness here. It's got some well thought out treatises on the state of skating, some political rants about GW, but also some ranting about local politics that droned for a bit and didn't mean much to me. It does have some tight photos, though. I guess Fuck Off is winning the prize this month, but seriously Colorado is Coloradical!
