John 3:60

Thrasher Magazine, April, 2005 by Jordan Ham

In the Bible God told Noah to make an ark of cypress wood for he was about to flood the earth. That very same wood built into the ark is currently being used for something that is ironically incorporated with some of the harshest stereo types, yet was created for virtually the same cause. Skating gives me something that nothing else did. God intended to wipe out all of mankind due to their wickedness and ignorance. Noah waited out the flood, on his ark looking forward to the cleansed earth. Skateboarding, overlooked and also misjudged, contains some of the strongest virtues that many of those same people lack. Courage, faith and freedom are a few of the many various things that skating emits to its user. Skateboarding gives me and others the ability to express ourselves in ways that are impossible to put on a sheet of paper. Skateboarding allows me to wait out the times of wickedness and liberates me from some of the ordinary confines of my life. Skateboarding, it is my own Noah's Ark.
